But did the Sandaime hear him? No, because the Sandaime wasn’t Minato-sensei and the old man never listened to him. And he went ahead with the brilliant idea of saddling him with his dead sensei’s son, Itachi’s little brother, and a kunoichi who was so much a cannon fodder that she had a literal target on her bright red dress.
He would not be blamed for the shitshow that was about to start.

absolutely incredible fic!!! kakashi is written so well, drawing on a lot of his canon tendencies and experience and then turning it all up to a thousand. barking mad indeed, and i love it. i also love his cute little genin who he is turning into codependent little beasts. this is generally just really well written too, love the creative use of formatting, the scenes are so vivid, the emotions tangible. all the characters feel very human, very real. already looking forward to rereading this one.

Summary
This five-part series is a Kakashi-centric time travel fix-it. It starts out pretty dark, but the real heart of the story is one of healing, and there are happy endings on the horizon. Specific warnings are included with each chapter.
Each story has its own arc and is complete in itself, but I recommend starting from the first story and reading through chronologically; the series is meant to be taken as a whole. Hope you enjoy!

Summary
Konoha meets Sukea's smiling face during Kakashi's first summer out of ANBU.
He almost cries the first time he completes the disguise. His long and untamed white hair, which people say makes him "wildly beautiful," is replaced with less eye-catching short brown hair. His frame is clearly that of a man, youth clinging to his cheeks yet his chest flat and sculpted. Some of his worst scars are gone from his sight.
He cannot become Kakashi. But he can be Sukea.

i really loved this story! i like the secret identity trope, and i really liked sukea as a way for kakashi to express himself before he finds the support and courage to really be himself! kakashi and the other characters feels so real and human. really well written!

Maybe he shouldn’t have pushed one of his more volatile students quite so far while playing as Sukea. One moment, he was enjoying a final game of teasing his face before passing the Hokage hat to Naruto; the next, he was in the past, draped in oversized clothes that now felt more like a tent than an outfit.
It wasn’t ideal, but he’d survived worse. His plan was simple: step into his old life, lay low, and figure out a way back to his proper timeline, even if it was the long way. Except... it seemed he hadn’t displaced his younger self. Instead, there were two Kakashis now, and they had to adapt.
The younger Kakashi, sharp-eyed and prickly as ever, clearly wasn’t thrilled by the intrusion. But older Kakashi wasn’t too worried. After all, he’d survived his students—adorable little brats who’d outgrown their charm and turned into forces of nature. Compared to them, his younger self was manageable.
Prickly or not, this kid might even be fun to mess with while Kakashi figured out how to navigate this unexpected hiccup in his retirement plan.
