Summary
It couldn’t have meant so little, stardust in the face of planets. It couldn’t have meant so little because, if it did, Guan Shan would no longer be able to recognize himself as the person he became in the aftermath.
He’d be hollowed out, stripped of the lessons learned and the changed perspectives like loose threads on a tapestry being pulled apart. He couldn’t bear the thought that all of this — the fighting, the understanding, the falling, the loss, the violent and unceremonious unearthing — had been for nothing.
It was too painful to have been for nothing.

Hot tears wouldn't stop running down Mo’s cheeks. He turned to face He Tian a few feet away. The beautiful suit was disheveled but if he was out of breath, he barely showed it. “You can’t just do that… why would you think that’s okay?”
“Because I like-”
“STOP TALKING!” Mo’s scream echoed around them. A train blew through the station, cutting off all sound and throwing a gust of wind. He Tian’s jacket and black hair flipped around caught in it. When the train finished Mo GuanShan’s ears were ringing in the comparative silence between them.
He Tian nodded slowly, “I’m sorry then.” Not waiting for a reply, the Shadow turned and walked away from him.

Mo is working at a high end restaurant. Stress and juggling multiple jobs to help support his mom may have made him a bit sloppy. One big oops has put him on the radar of one of the most dangerous men in the city.
Slow burn enemies to lovers ensues.

Or: An unexpected encounter with the mafia brings Mo a possibility he wasn’t even dreaming about anymore: new evidence popping up and his dad’s case being reopened. His dad could walk free. All if Mo can cover the 70k bill, that is. It’s stupid. Mo can’t make that in years.
...the thought still lingers though, a sore spot he can’t stop poking. Hope is a treacherous thing.
Meanwhile, every minute chips away at the little time He Tian has left. He’s tried crying, he’s tried screaming at walls. Now it’s his time to fight back.
Somehow, they end up to helping each other. But their story has never been this simple.
