Lie. He had to lie. Izuku focused on the word ‘yes’. He would lie. He would. Izuku could feel everything in him pushing back. He opened his mouth. “No,” Izuku said.
“Stay,” Mindjack ordered. He moved swiftly to the end of the alleyway and glanced both ways before returning to Izuku. His next words were matter-of-fact, leaving no room for rebute even if Izuku was able to offer one. “Take off your mask.”

Izuku gets to live out his dreams of being a hero, just not the way he imagined it. As an underground hero, he does all he can to right past wrongs and still maintain some semblance of a personal life. Meanwhile, Hitoshi struggles to escape the villain destiny he seems to have been born into.
With the threat of a war on the horizon and identities revealed- their morals and relationship will be put to the test.

Summary
Izuku had a soulmark before. Explosions across his collarbone, bright and loud, a neon sign that screamed for all the world to hear exactly who his soulmate was.
It disappears in his final year of middle school. Izuku asks the universe to take it away after his last straw is taken in Kacchan’s hands and snapped in half, and he isn’t granted a second one. Not that he minds all that much- no, no one is better than Kacchan was, and Izuku thinks he can settle for finding love one day without the help of some fancy mark on his skin.
Hitoshi never had a soulmark before. He grew up without one and got bullied for it. After all, he was the villain kid, so despicable with such an evil quirk that even the universe agreed he wasn’t worthy of love. He grew to accept it slowly, eventually coming to terms with the fact that he’d have to find someone on his own even if the odds were stacked against him.
Both of them are surprised one night to see a splotch of color on their hands, a thin matching thread that begins to grow as the days go by.
Thankfully, neither are disappointed.

I’m fine!” He tries to wave his arms but forgets, again, his current predicament, and the sudden motion destroys his precarious balance in Shinsou’s lap and he begins to teeter dangerously.
I deserve this, Izuku thinks.

“Why would I need to tape your mouth shut,” Deathwish hissed, once again outmaneuvering Hitoshi’s attempts to free himself with frustrating ease, “When I have other ways of silencing you when I want?”
A leather gloved hand suddenly pressed firmly but warningly against his throat. “You’re so easy to control, I don’t need anything else.”
Something about the not-too-hard not-too-loose grip, the words mixed with the adrenaline lighting his veins on fire, and those green eyes he knew were cutting into him like jade even if he couldn’t see it just went straight to his cock, an audible groan gasping out of his throat midst the headrush.
They both froze, Deathwish stepping back in surprise, taking that delicious pressure with him.
Hitoshi could feel the heat crawling up his face.

Not that most of society knows such a thing, and even Hitoshi doesn't know everything, but he knows enough. Enough to understand that villains aren't always what they seem and the right thing isn't always the right thing.
Sometimes hands have to get dirty for others to stay clean, and Hitoshi wouldn't mind basking in such tainted presence, wouldn't mind smoldering in villainy and deceit for a few precious hours.

Shinsou may not be a soothsayer, but he knows that this is not what the future had in store for him. This isn't how his life was supposed to turn out. He isn't supposed to wind up trapped in this small grey room, with the walls closing in on him from all sides, slowly suffocating him with the knowledge that he'll never become a hero. Not like this.
And he definitely isn't supposed to end up with this annoying freckled visitor, who keeps telling him not to give up.
