    It should have been a routine interrogation of a high ranking Autobot operative, except that nothing involving Autobot Jazz was ever routine. Soundwave had long ago learned that one could not take anything he said or did for granted, there was always more going on. Autobot Jazz defied expectations.

    He defied expectations by even being captured when Soundwave had believed it could never be so easy. Not that it had been, considering his detainment involved Jazz sacrificing himself to allow for the extraction of five previously imprisoned Autobots who were now gone. Using himself as more valuable leverage had indeed been an effective tactic, but as he sat, chained to the cell wall, visor removed to prevent easy escape, clear damage to his left leg to hinder mobility, Soundwave did not trust the apparent submissive slump of his shoulders or the way he shifted as if in pain on the video feed. It was convincing, if one did not know Autobot Jazz, but Soundwave knew him better than most.
