    Summary

It was not Maedhros, nor Maglor, first. Elros would not learn his name until much later. He had not seen them, but Elros had seen him. A red-haired elf, bow in hand, eyes flashing with fury as he hunted for something, anything to kill. Elros knew that face from the soldiers who guarded the palisade, the ones Mother told him not to speak with, the blonde ones who watched the forest with such longing. They had fled something awful. It shouted from behind their eyes. It could barely be restrained. This elf kept it down much worse than them. Amras. Amras of the broken bond, of the lost twin, of the infinite sorrows.

Could you stand it? To watch?

To watch it happen to Elrond. To see his own twin go vacant behind the eyes, missing something eternally, to fill that emptiness with the fire that already dared to consume him. He cared too much. He was more like Maedhros than he wished to admit.

    Summary

A slave, broken and forgotten, and hopefully dead within the decade. That is what young Lindir believes to be his fate, when orcs burn his village to the ground and round the inhabitants up as prisoners.
Then one morning, a horn sounds through the fog.

What follows is a tale of family, of choice, and the song that unites us.

    Summary

    Summary

At last Thranduil settled on top of him. He gazed down, his eyes unblinking, and his face utterly devoid of his usual mirth, instead colored by a narrow, channeled intensity. A bit overwhelmed, Elrond had to look away.

"You know," said Thranduil conversationally, turning Elrond's face back to him by his chin, "you don't have to lea--"

"Stop," Elrond told him, putting a hand over his mouth, "don't make this any harder than it already is."

He had guessed that Thranduil would bring this up eventually. Thranduil was a wood-elf; he heeded no call of seagulls, let no pull of oceans touch his heart. He spurned Ulmo; he loved his green woods, the grass beneath his bare feet. He would never leave them.
