For the Teutonic Knights, he's the youngest addition to the Crusade, and he has something to prove.

Somewhere in between is Gilbert, who remains in the shadows of a silly boy who loves to sing. The Knights Templar is the model of all that Christianity stands for, and Gilbert hates his perfection. The boy always called him Maria, and after 1307 no one calls him that anymore. He's no longer deserving of such a holy name. He no longer needs such a holy name, when the same faith burnt at the stake its most devout follower.

Summary
World War II has come to a bloody, limping end, and with it, Ludwig has returned home to the rubble of Berlin. Life seems set on a downward spiral with the dismantling of his nation beginning and the tensions between America and Russia rising on either side, yet the low bar Ludwig has set for the future is one Alfred doesn't seem to share.
Alfred has taken it upon himself to puzzle back together the broken cogs of the European machine, the end of the war bringing about opportunity for his budding influence and starry-eyed vision. The world is his oyster, and Ludwig is the man he's set on seeing first.
What happens when their paths collide?

It’s 1949, and Moldavia really, really needs to pee but doesn’t know where the bathroom is. Seriously, who lets a little girl go to bed without asking if she needs to pee?
She only moved into this huge big house in ‘Mosk-va’ (like she says it) a few days ago, and all the doors look the same and it’s hard to tell the doors apart.
Bravely, she wanders out into the hall on her own, and it isn’t actually one of her siblings who helps her in the end.
It’s just East Germany (Prussia) shamelessly big-brothering any child (here, Moldavia) who walks his way.

When Jamestown starves, so too does Arthur's newfound child. He does not do very well in coping with the outcome.
