"This was supposed to be for you," Vincent hisses furiously into his ear as he twists the knife deeper into his shoulder, the blade angled just precisely enough to miss the main arteries in his throat. The searing pain pulls a sharp, agonized cry from his lips, his body convulsing at the sensation but unable to move from the crushing weight of Vincent's frame pinning him down.
No matter how much he struggles, he can't escape, the pain and blood loss rooting him to the spot as the man above him stares down at him with wild, feverish eyes. Rody realizes, with a sickening wave of dread, that he won't be going anywhere. Not for a long, long time.

Or: Vincent decides he doesn't quite want to let Rody die just yet. Not when the prospect of keeping him alive is far more appealing.

Ford's been acting strange lately, and it’s really starting to worry Fiddleford. Dragging him along on the smallest of tasks, yet making weird comments about how he surely wasn't Fidds’ favorite...he can’t make heads or tails of it. Even more reason to look forward to the upcoming spring break: he, Ford, and Stan will have plenty of time to reconnect and strengthen their friendship over the week-long vacation.
But when Ford has to go out of town last minute to train for the Quiz Bowl, he seems really upset about leaving Fidds and Stan all alone together in Glass Shard Beach. Ford must just be sad that he can't join in on the fun, right? It’s not like he’s jealous or something…right? That would be ridiculous, it’s not like there’s anything going on between him and Stan. Not yet anyway…
