"Well…" He began, feeling as though scolded for his own mistakes. "I-It was my fault, technically?"
"How could it technically be your fault?" Warriors tested, tone flat and exasperated. If Legend had to guess, it was probably from all his stammering.
"I… Well, he- he wanted to go ahead, and I-"
"Let him?" Warriors snipped in an interruption, Legend couldn't help the flinch that left him. "Is that what you were going to say?"
Red hot shame began to spread on his face, out to the very tips of his ears. "You see, n-normally we would-"
The Captain made a noise. It wasn't quite of a scoff, but certainly not one of sympathy. He instead turned to reach over for his first aid kit, not even asking Legend to get it over for him- Maybe he it was because he thought Legend was useless.
A high, miserable whine suddenly escaped The Traveler, catching both Legend and Warriors' attention. It petered off into a deep, broken sob, and Legend felt his own heart fold into itself right at that very moment.

Summary
A surprised sound escaped Legend. His stance faltered, and he nearly toppled over as Hyrule writhed in his hold. "Easy!"
A sob wrenched itself from Hyrule. He cowered over himself, hands coming to pitifully shield his face. Those eyes had no right to look over at Legend, for his tears to shamefully reflect The Veteran's pitiful stare.
"Please stay with me now." Legend tried to soothe, though his voice flitted on a nervous note, and the slight bounce of attention he gave to Hyrule may have been his own jittery actions, rather than the means to comfort.
"I'm-" He hiccuped. "I'm sorry!"
He winced, the pitch in Hyrule's voice was a little far too high for his comfort, for anybody's comfort, really. "No, no, no-" Legend was quick to intervene. "This isn't- None of this is your fault, Rulie."
Guilt washed over The Traveler in waves of thick, vicing shame. It clung to his lungs, drawing out long and ragged breaths as sobs that heaved their way out.
"No, you don't understand-"
"I promise, Hyrule." The Veteran shook his head, holding his successor closer. "Let's just- Let's just go. We'll need to deal with your injury when we get back."

Summary
"…Do you trust me?" He began, Hyrule's blood ran cold, the boy failing to suppress a shiver.
"Yes."
"Do you really trust me?" Legend asked again, keeping a steady gaze as he dug through his pockets.
Hyrule's eyes widened at the offending object, a small vial of an undisclosed liquid, before forcing his gaze at Legend's fond, yet broken look.
"Lege, you don't-"
"We're going to get out of here." He reassured, voice low and calm as though The Traveler were a skittery forest animal.
He nodded, a little pleading stare in place of a confident one.
"What- What is it for?" Hyrule's gaze narrowed at the glass vial.
"Take this and you won't be awake for another while." Legend explained, a lick of pride in his tone, though he knew better than to smile surely. "Half is enough for a whole day. I want you to drink the entire thing."
