Summary
Baelor is thirty six, the crown prince, and has buried one wife already. He did not ask for another but a rebellion does not care what you ask for, and so he found himself wed to a brother half his age in the name of Targaryen unity.
Maekar is eighteen, an omega, and has spent three years at Summerhall understanding exactly what he is to his husband; an arrangement. A political necessity. An afterthought, not that this is anything new.
With the rebellion reshaping itself and a unified front to maintain, they are summoned to King's Landing to begin the marriage in earnest.
Neither of them is particularly pleased about it.

“What do I look like?” Baelor asks.
Maekar looks surprised. “You, ah. I should find a mirror.”
“No,” Baelor says. “Just tell me. What do I look like?”
“Ugly,” Maekar grumps.
“No,” Baelor says. “You’re handsome, and I can’t be that far off.”

Summary
Baelor is told that he should take a new mate to strengthen his position as pack alpha. He asks Maekar's opinion, as the omega platonically sharing his den and raising his pups. Maekar handles it about as gracefully as one would expect.

"Found an alpha to lay with, then?"
"No," Dunk demures, "not as such." He's thick, yes, but he's lived nineteen or twenty years and he's not entirely dumb. He knows what it means when an alpha lays with an omega—or any other conceivable combination, alphas, betas, omegas, men, women, and others still. Laying with someone does not always mean one is laying down. One might stand for it, too. Or, "We were sitting at the time."
-
Dunk is determined to enter the lists, though it's hard to focus when his worries lay elsewhere. Lucky for him he knows of three omegas that are better versed in the ways of the world and might provide him with some much needed guidance.
Lyonel has worries of his own.

Summary
He indulged Maekar, he knew that. He always had, in a way he did not with Aerys and Rhaegel. Baelor couldn’t help it. He never seemed to have developed the requisite ability to deny his baby brother his wishes, and his wishes, much of the time, were simply to be with Baelor.

Or, five times throughout their lives together when Baelor tended to Maekar's wounds, plus the one time Maekar tried (and failed) to return the favour.
