Summary
Robby smacked Jack on his back wound. Jack decided to take his revenge.
Some debts needs to be collected before a man rides off to his three-month motorcycle sabbatical.
They have a supply closet and a hundred and eighty seconds. That's enough for Jack to NOT finish what he started.-----------
“What—” His voice had gone hoarse.
Jack waited. His three minutes were almost up, but he could afford a few last words from his stubborn, gloriously undone partner.
Robby tried again. “Are you leaving me? Like this?”
“Serves you right,” Jack said without heat, “for slapping me on my wound.”
“No, I didn’t.” Robby managed just the right amount of innocent, indignant, and befuddled. He even produced a proper little frown to go with his words. Impressive, under the circumstances.
But Jack wasn’t fooled. He clocked Robby’s voice going just a fraction higher, and his eyes darting left for half a second before snapping back. Robby was lying.Bookmarked by Lexcyx
