Avery’s head whips up so fast he nearly gets whiplash and stares up at the coffee shop TV tuned to the local news.
“ーafter two days of no contact and multiple missed calls. This comes in light of some recent surveillance footage discovered by investigators which shows men in black arriving at Derek’s home in unlisted vehicles and carrying out a body, whom Derek’s mother has identified as her son. The identities of these men have not yet been determined. Police are urging anyone with information related to the case or Derek’s whereabouts to come forward."

It was never Sans’s plan to fall in love with a reckless, impulsive, indisputably messed up human, but hey, the heart wants what it wants. What he didn’t count on, however, is said human climbing through his window one night and recruiting him for a six-hour escapade all across town, and then an equally adventurous road trip out-of-country. Sans has never exactly been one for grand gestures, but all of a sudden his life seems to be full of them - and he doesn't mind as much as he thought he would.

"Fine." His chair groaned as he stood, drawing himself up to his full height despite the ache in his ribs. "But I have conditions."
"Do you really think you're in a position to bargain?"
"Yes," George spoke with finality.
Techno sighed low in his throat. "Go on then."
"I get to kill him."
The silence was deafening.
"What?"
"The King." Black venom dripped from his tongue and his nails dug into his shaking palms. Bitterness rose in George's throat as he spat, "He stole everything from me. He took my life from me. And I want to be the one to return the favor."
...
Orphaned at a young age due to his relations with magic and thrown into the King's coal mines, George has wanted nothing more than to get his revenge on the man who stole everything from him. When a rebel group hears of his story, and more importantly, the power he holds, it's not long before he's thrown into a plan far too large to comprehend.
When he starts to find what he's been missing his whole life in the form of a group of ragtag dissenters and one masked warrior, it's far too easy to forget- the King is never far behind.
Alternatively, enemies to lovers DNF go brrrrr.

When you decide to pursue your childhood dream of running an arcade, the developing monster city at the top of Mount Ebott seems like an obvious choice to set up shop. The community is growing quickly, you'd have very little competition, and commercial renting space is dirt cheap.
The only problem is you've never run a business by yourself before, and you're not very good with numbers. When you find a monster accountant advertising his services online, you jump at the chance to work with him.
The skeleton seems formal, professional, and detached, which is just fine by you. Who needs the distractions of friendships and relationships when you've got a business to run?
