Summary
A remix of Act 2 in which Gale gets more of a character arc resolution.
“Gods damn it Gale!”
Astarion leaps over him. The guard, poised to land an entirely excessive final blow to Gale’s skull, topples backwards with a knife in his gut. The second pierces his neck, sending him crashing to the ground. Astarion yanks his blades back, and drops to his knees beside Gale.
“Oh no no no, you are not dying on me now.”
Gale attempts to express something, but it comes out as a gurgle of bloody bubbles. The world swings to the side, black and spinning.
“I swear, if it turns out I did just watch you spend the last of your magic sending your cat back to safety instead of saving your own damn skin-”
The threat remains unfinished. A healing potion trickles between Gale’s lips.
“Tressym,” Gale says, when he can finally trust his voice.
Astarion is still crouched over him, cheeks flushed, sweat running down his brow and someone else’s blood smeared across his cheek. Gale has the sudden urge to kiss him.
“What?”
“She’s a tressym. Not a cat.”
Astarion makes a noise of such furious, pained exasperation that Gale half expects the dagger to end up in his neck next.Series

Estinien stretches his legs out until he takes up as much of the seat in the sun as G’raha’s smaller frame will allow, tail a lazy pendulum back and forth where it lies draped across the cushion. “While all of my attention will be spent on ensuring we can reverse this, I would know how best to care for you– that is, your body, in the meantime.”

“Y-You’re an ass,” Phainon choked while pulling him closer by the hair, so full of emotions that it hurt. “You’re so mean. All you do is tease me and then leave me hanging f-for hours, days, weeks. I wait, and I wait, a-and I wait for you all the time like a fucking dog, Mydei. I hate—”
“Yeah? You hate me?” Mydei taunted him. “My boy hates me? But he’s humping my leg like a good pup does. You want me, and you love me, and you know you do, baby. I’m your rockstar.”

“Phainon of Aedes Elysiae.” Aglaea peers at him, her gaze as sharp as daggers. He might just break into a cold sweat right now. “You mean to tell me, that you fucked him, when you were supposed to kill him?”
Phainon’s arm flies to the back of his neck, scratching awkwardly. He smiles crookedly. “Look, a win is a win! It worked!”
Phainon is set on a mission to defeat the prince of strife. It goes a little unexpectedly.
