When he opened his eyes, Verity was leaning over him, lowering himself until their eyes were nearly level, though Mob still had to look up to meet his gaze. There was a red glint dancing behind the obsidian black of his eyes, predatory and hungry.
"Why are you trying to leave me?" Verity asked, his voice low, curious.
Mob kept his eyes fixed on his, his breathing short and shallow. He tried to stay calm.
"Verity, let me go."
"You said you came back for me," Verity continued as if he hadn't said anything. "Why are you trying to leave me again?"
Mob tried to wrench his wrist free, but the grip only dug deeper into his flesh, in a way Mob knew would leave bruises. His eyes narrowed at the sharp flare of pain.
"Verity... you're hurting me."

Summary
After Twixxel’s murder in game, Mob discovers his friend’s real self is recovering from questionable injuries at the hospital. They come to a mutual agreement that they should avoid the Minecraft server until they can find a way to put a stop to Verity.
While Twixxel focuses on his health, Mob keeps himself busy however he can. It’s fun. Until it's boring. In an attempt to entertain himself, Mob accidentally gives Verity an open window back into his life. Faced with daunting circumstances, every interaction challenges his patience and tolerance for risk.
And maybe—just maybe—his feelings as well.

He always made it a point to eat the players last, in some twisted way he enjoyed them. He didn't care about them, he had to make that clear. But he liked the company they brought. The smiles, the laughter, the questions both brilliant and dumb that would be asked. They were funny little creatures, so trusting. He liked them enough not to immediately pounce.
Verity would keep the facade of helpfulness and a bright attitude, until they started noticing the villagers going missing. Until there was no one left, but them. When they began to question him, when they started to pull away, that was when he’d strike.
He was still waiting for this one to pull away.

A recounting of how Verity and Mob met, and how their relationship forms. Verity is waiting for the moment Mob runs away, waiting to finally feast, only to see that the other... hasn't. And with that, Verity begins to look at him in a new light, which can mean nothing good for Mob.
