Summary
His life hadn’t gone exactly according to plan since leaving University. Not that he wasn’t happy, but he never would have seen himself in his current position - living in a tiny one room flat, not even with it’s own bathroom. But rent in London was impossible solo, and after a string of bad roommates Merlin couldn’t stomach the idea of sharing a space with anyone else. One day he finds himself wandering into a strange shop with an even more strange shopkeeper, and somehow wandering out with a 'magic spell' that is supposed to somehow fix his destiny.
Too bad magic doesn't exist, right?

They’d always felt inevitable, unchangeable, unbreakable - Bellamy and Clarke - it was almost funny how Clarke had taken that for granted, and she could see that now. That she hadn’t appreciated how much of his life he’d put on hold to make her happy.
Clarke’s reality was that she’d taken that moment to remember that he had a family now. By now Bellamy would have proposed, and he and Echo would be married. They probably had a kid of their own, maybe two. The house would have a fresh coat of paint, maybe even a new fence. Hell, if Bell had his way the couple would have a dog by now. Picture perfect.
But now she had time. She had distance. She could do this right.
TLDR; Clarke comes home. Finally.

“Took you long enough Clarkey, I’ve been calling you for like a half hour,” Raven’s head turned and ran up and down Clarke before her expression softened.
With a soft breath, she turned her upper body to Clarke, “Hey –“ There was something about her tone that brought tears to Clarke’s eyes again, and the blonde turned her face to the light in the ceiling – desperate not to let them escape.
“Clarke – hey, no. Don’t cry,” The brunette had stood and grabbed Clarke’s hand, slowly dragging her to the sofa, “Com’ere, shh.”
With that, Clarke curled herself around her friend and let the sobs wrack her body. She wasn’t even sure what she said, words choked by tears, while her friend pet her wet curls and stroked her arms – trying desperately to soothe her.
TLDR; Clarke's actions finally catch up with her.

The music blared around them as Bellamy's face snapped towards her, the slight smile that came to his face at the sight of her was quickly wiped away as he turned back to his drink, “I thought we weren’t speaking.”
Clarke, at least, had the presence of mind to look ashamed before she opened her mouth, “I’ve been told that I’m an idiot, you’ll understand, and that we need to work out our bullshit so…” she trailed off and took a sip of her drink, eyeing him from the corner of her eyes.
TLDR; Clarke wishes she could let go, but all Bellamy Blake has to do is let her and she'll fall all over again.
