Prince Baelon had another cause for celebration as well. His wife, Alyssa, was again with child. This time, he told his brother Aemon, he was praying for a girl.
The gods listen to Baelon’s prayers, and in the year 82 AC, princess Alyssa gives her husband the daughter he has longed for. The happy parents name the girl Rhaenyra to honour two Queens - Rhaenys and Rhaena.
