He rolled onto his side, every movement causing a deep pulse in his head and a sharp pain in his left lumbar region. Eventually he had rolled over enough to get his arms underneath himself and he started to push himself up.
“Uunghh!” He cried out in anguish, falling back onto his forearms and pressing his forehead against the ground. His mind was blank, filled with nothing but pain that became more intense as he tried to remember… well… anything.

Apparently, as well as bestowing him with the ability to bear children, the Took line also cursed him with a ferocious temper. Needless to say, many of the younger elves left him in peace and quiet.
In fact, most of the older ones left him alone as well.
Alone… and needing to use the chamber pot again.
Groaning in pain as he leaned over the side of the bed, reaching out for the pot, Bilbo was starting to regret his stubborn nature.

Spring brought rain, summer brought dwarves. Autumn brought pain, winter brought war.

When a dwarven seer offered Thrór, King Under the Lonely Mountain, a prophecy about a dragon destroying the line of Durin, Thrór ordered all the dragons of Middle Earth to be hunted into extinction.
Nearly five hundred years later, Thorin Oakenshield, the newly anointed King Under the Mountain, swears to complete his grandfather’s work. He sets his sights on a fire drake from the north known only as Smaug the Terrible, the last great dragon from tales of old.
There’s only one problem. Smaug has long since chosen to hoard something far more precious to him than all the gold in Middle Earth: hobbits. And, annoyingly, the normally peaceful people of the Shire seem determined to not let their protector die by foreign blades.
Enter Bilbo Baggins, Smaug’s favorite hobbit, who must venture to Erebor with a small escort of dwarven soldiers in order to make a formal plea for Smaug’s life in front of the King Under the Mountain.

Summary
Bilbo Baggins has been a respectable hobbit for far longer than any other hobbits in the shire. This may or may not be due to his bizarre transformation into a creature of the night.
A pack of strange dwarves lingers at the edge of Hobbiton, followed closely by a figure cloaked in grey. Things are about to get a whole lot more exciting for the vampire hidden away in his cozy hobbit hole.
