“So this is Jaskier,” said Ciri. “Jaskier the bard. Jaskier the friend. Jaskier the one who wrote the only song I’ve ever heard you sing ever.”
“Yes,” grumbled Geralt, a metallic sound ringing through the air as he took another swipe at his sword. “That Jaskier.”
A moment of silence passed.
“He’s mad at you.”
Geralt’s knife clattered to the ground as he sighed, closing his eyes. “Ciri–”
“What? I’m not allowed to say that he’s mad at you?” she scoffed. “He’s clearly mad at you. Come on. You keep looking at him with what I think most people would call puppy-dog-eyes and Yennefer practically had to drag him up here anyway even though his hands clearly need some help–”
“Don’t talk about his hands,” Geralt said seriously, and Ciri stopped her chattering, going still. He went back to his sword, not wanting Ciri to see the guilt he couldn’t hide. “Alright? You can ask him about anything else. Just not the hands.”- Language:

Summary
Two lonely people bump into one another on the road. It’s doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things. The same two lonely people bump into one another in Kaer Morhen. It means a great deal more than either of them is willing to admit.
“I’m Lambert.”
“Of course you are,” was Jaskier’s immediate response.
Lambert cocked an eyebrow, the one with a long scar running through it. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Eskel wouldn’t have acted like he was considering killing me, for one.”
and
“It’s a salve for your hands.”
“Why would a witcher keep have burn salve meant for humans?” It wasn’t a challenge, but the question wasn’t entirely innocent either. None of Cirilla’s training put her at risk of burns and any remaining pain from Yennefer’s burns from Sodden could be dealt with via her newly returned chaos. This wasn’t something made for either of them being repurposed.
“It wouldn’t,” the man said bluntly. “I found the recipe in a book and made it.” He shrugged lightly, like it was nothing. Like it wasn’t more than anyone had done for Jaskier since Yennefer saved him from the burning hands of another mage. “I’ve got a penchant for alchemy, it should work.”

Summary
But that’s the whole reason he’s here, isn’t it? He’s not out here hunting Humans. He’s not even hunting deer, or bears, or anything else that featured in Bambi. He’s out here, freezing his nuts off every night, because he’s hunting Angels.
Sometimes Dean wishes that Angels were like how they’re described in the Bible. How people from time too old for him to care much about thought Angels were messengers and warriors of God, protectors of Humans. He knows that how they’re really described in the Bible is actually pretty terrifying, but at least they were told by God that they’re supposed to love Humans, right?
That’s a thousand times better than what Angels really turned out to be.
