It should feel wrong, it should feel downright vile, but Kanjuro's fantasy and reality and the third thing have always been too closely linked. It's why he doesn't date. The rules that workers operate within are so much easier than going too far with someone who might actually like you, or god forbid, love you, enough to let you push it too far.

Summary
What do shitty club lighting and moonlight on a cliff by the sea have in common? Kanjuro looks hot in both kinds of lighting.
Frankly? Unfair.
It was really just supposed to be a fun night at the club, maybe find a guy to go home with Raizo after her latest breakup. Kin's in her new shirt and is feeling good, so she tries to bum a line off the girl with the pink hair in the bathroom. This is a terrible move, or a really fantastic one, depending. Kin's still not sure.

This earns him another loud giggle from Tsuru, almost a cackle. The other couple glares at them and Kin’emon waves sarcastically in their direction.
“Here, try it, try it,” Tsuru says, pushing him into a stretch.
“Ow,” Kin’emon says, relenting, “Ow, ow, ow.”
He feels something on his back in addition to his wife’s tiny hands. He tries to turn his head and fuck does that hurt–
The fucking dance instructor has his foot on Kin’s back, pushing him further down into the stretch.
Jesus.
“Are we there yet, team?” Kin asks, imitating his supervisor from the office.
“Not yet,” Kanjuro says, “But perhaps relenting before we break you is sensible.”Maybe next week, breaking Kin will be on the table for Kanjuro. Or, modern AU in which Kanjuro runs a dance class where he cruises/homewrecks straight couples.

For half a delirious moment, Kin'emon is confused, he shifts. Kanjuro looks at him, like a hawk would clock the movement of a field mouse. Gaze empty.
Ashura hisses, “Not you, you idiot.”
Kanjuro turns back to Orochi.
“Would I disobey you?” Kanjuro muses, “I suppose it depends if that shame would follow me to the afterlife, if it would keep me from my family. But there is no way to know, without going to that undiscovered country. And therefore, I will depart.”
“I'll give you anything! Kanjuro, loyalty like yours deserves to live in riches, lavishly. A Kurozumi is a king in this land! Simply make a request of me, and I shall meet it.”
“I have only the one,” Kanjuro says, “That you give Foxfire Kin'emon a blade with which to cut my head off, once I’ve spilled my entrails here.”

On the verge of a rut, Wolfwood attempts to leave. Vash makes an offer.
“Let me help you,” Vash says as Wolfwood stares, cigarette dangling from his mouth.
They’re in the courtyard of the motel they’ve sequestered rooms in, and Wolfwood had been on the way out. Vash had caught him and cornered him, blurting it out without further thought.
“Help me with what?” Wolfwood’s brows pinch, and Vash scratches the side of his head sheepishly.
“Y’know…” Vash says, and gestures towards the general area of Wolfwood’s lower half. “Y’know. As friends. Let me be your partner.”

Vash considers that, the revelation that he could possibly ever want something and be granted it. In the end, he shakes his head. “It doesn’t matter. I’m not asking somebody to do that.”
“And if they offered?”
"Are you offering?"
Vash wants to help people however he can, including getting them off, but they never return the favor. Wolfwood changes that.
