Jayce blinked, swaying into his saviour, unsteady.
“Shit,” she muttered. “Viktor, he’s fucking heavy, can we come in?”
Jayce looked up, and found a deep honey-gold gaze inspecting him closely, edged in black.
After a few long moments, the tall man sighed and stepped aside. “You and your lost puppies, Vi. Fine, but if there are Enforcers following him, I’m giving you up in a heartbeat.”
“Uh huh,” she said, her eye roll audible.
“Where did you even find a broken Piltie?” Viktor swept passed them, slim skirt trailing on the floor.

Summary
No one paid much attention when a young man from the Undercity was expelled from Piltover Academy after having been found to have forged his enrollment.
Significantly more notice is paid five years later, however, when one Jayce Talis is expelled after his trial by the Piltover Council. In this world, there is no keen-eyed assistant to the Dean to read through his notebook and to talk him off the ledge—but something draws him towards Zaun, where he gets his ass kicked and is rescued by an unusual man. Against all odds, Jayce manages to find Viktor anyways.

Instead, he looks at the man coolly. The word from the Viscount’s mouth makes him inexplicably angry. He shouldn’t be surprised at the moniker, hasn’t been in a long while, but right now it stings in a new and unexpected way. He’s angry that the man that loves his people so much, has tried to save their children and kill the monster, now isn’t even seeing him as the last resort he was when he was a nameless witcher.The viscount blinks dark lashes over his blue eyes and opens his mouth to speak, but Geralt cuts him off.

Zuko scoffed. “As always, I am the author of my own unhappiness.”
Sokka hummed. “Years ago, when it was just us travelling together, we came across this fortune teller. I didn’t believe any of that mumbo-jumbo. But then she said that my life would be full of struggle and anguish, most of it self-inflicted.”
It suited Zuko’s life extraordinarily well, he felt. “Sometimes, I feel like I’m the only person in the Fire Nation who has a vision of what it takes for this country to get better.”
Sokka turned to face him, but Zuko looked resolutely forwards. “That can’t be true.”
Zuko turns twenty-five. In spite of his best efforts, the Fire Nation seems to lurch from crisis to crisis. The firebenders have lost their flame, and the situation with the former colonies is only worsening. All the while, he's ill, lonely, and consumed by work.
And on the other side of the country, Sokka has just moved in with one Master Piandao.
