"How did that not kill you?" The man asks, snarling. "I saw that. I saw you die." He clenches his fists by his side.

Yuji feels. It consumes his body, erases his filter. He smiles, feeling sadistic in the other's disbelief. "Come on, hit me with it." His smile drops, his eyes boring into the other. "Or was that all you had to say?"

    OR

On a mission, Yuji encounters a curse user that has the ability to make someone's past wounds return. Resurfacing old scars, it causes Yuji's cursed energy to heighten to a point where he cannot dial it back. It raises questions and worries about his self-control.

Okay, time to assess his situation. Yuuji is in a city he's never heard of, the people look strange and unnatural, there is no Cursed Energy anywhere and worst of all, he is seemingly in the future.

"Fuck," Yuuji hisses. He doesn't have time for this, whatever this is. Some kind of grand joke played on him by the universe maybe. Okkotsu and Todo could be dead right now. For all he knows Sukuna has won and this is what the afterlife is like.

When people are desperate they turn to faith. Panem has done a good job creating a truly secular society, stamping out the religions of the past, but nothing can stop new gods from rising.

Or: When Gaea curses Percy to live in a world without the gods, he winds up in District 4 and is chosen as tribute for the 70th Hunger Games. From there, everything just kind of spirals.

    Nothing makes sense here.
All he knows is that his name is Itadori Yuji, he’s eighty-three years old, the year is 2086, and he is stuck in an alien’s technique. There is no other option.
    There can’t be.

Or, eighty-three-year-old Itadori Yuji appears in Sendai just a few blocks away from where his fifteen-year-old counterpart eats Sukuna's finger.

    Such a beautiful fic…
So so bittersweet (had a physical pain in my throat near the end) but probably the best ending possible for Modulo Yuji, immortality never suited him.

    Summary

"Itadori-sama," Megumi says, bowing deeper than he ever has in his entire life. Itadori is, after all, the oldest man on Earth; if anyone deserves respect, it's him. "I'm the sorcerer who'll be assisting you. My name is Sugisawa Megumi."

He lifts his head in time to see something pass over Itadori's face—a shadow of some kind, an infinitesimal twitch of muscle. "Megumi," he repeats, his voice a low murmur, and Megumi's surprised at how familiar it sounds coming from Itadori's mouth. "Huh. What an old fashioned name."

(Or: two hundred and sixty-six years after his death, Fushiguro Megumi is reborn. It takes a while before either he or Yuuji realise it.)
