When the door clicks open on that late Saturday night, Alex isn't really surprised by what he sees beyond it. Greg, stood there in a rumpled blue shirt and well-worn tracksuit bottoms full of holes, has dark circles under his eyes and tear stains on his cheeks. He's beautiful and heartbreaking, and he remains a sight for Alex's sore eyes.
Alex takes care of Greg.

Oh my god. He’s only brought like, hmm, three men here in the last two months!? “No.”
Greg nods and pulls out a medium-sized paper cup. “Two sugars still?”
“Yes, please,” Alex says, trying not to look up. He must look insane, his eyes darting around the shop, around the counter, anywhere but at the large man that stands in front of him. He stares at his own shoes for a good fifteen seconds.

“Is it just… stress? Or is it something else?” He takes a bite of the ice cream, shivering as the cold hits his teeth.
