"Sorry for trespassin'," he says, illogically. "Just thought this might be a fine place to die. Figured I'd make a nice snack for you, at least." His voice slurs a little as he speaks. It's a pleasant voice, Qifrey thinks idly. Nice and raspy, almost like a beginning of a growl. The man is still watching him through a glaze. "Gods, but you're beautiful," he says, absurdly.
Qifrey freezes in his descent. Watches the way the human wrinkles his nose as he seems to process his own words, then closes his eyes.
"Why'd I say that," he asks.

What's a dragon to do, when a dying man stumbles into his den and collapses against his hoard? Follow him home, marry him, and adopt a family, of course. Now, that's probably not right, but there's few willing or capable of correcting a dragon in something they've decided to do.

Their lips broke apart and Qifrey heard himself whining, a high noise he would probably be embarrassed about if it weren’t for how wonderful Olruggio felt beneath him. If he had the presence of mind to even be embarrassed.
“Look at you,” Olly whispered, one hand hot on his hip, guiding him to grind down and press them together. “Always wanted you.”

Summary
Qifrey prepared Olruggio’s favorite for lunch. Olruggio stayed in the kitchen, helping him around with cutting the vegetables,or giving him the spices from spice shelves, or drawing a seal for cooking, or just standing beside him like he'd not want to be anywhere else. He'd stand closer than what used to be the norm, brushing their shoulders with any movement. He'd touch his hand while handing him the spice pots. Once or twice Qifrey would note them as an accident but each time? Olruggio was touching him deliberately. He had idly run down his finger over Qifrey's spine for no reason at all, almost as if he was teasing Qifrey.
Or
Qifrey is saved from turning into tree. He no longer has to hide his true feelings. He can finally be comfortable with his feelings. Expect, he can't! He's not used to being comfortable. He has no idea how to approach Olly with a romantic intention after running away from it for two decades.
