Jason had flashes.
Sudden images that would randomly appear in his mind from time to time. Blurry, distorted, sometimes irrecognizable scenes that he couldn’t quite call memories but knew that’s what they were supposed to be. There were flashes of a hospital room, of beeping machines, of white walls and bright lights. Flashes of the streets, of the smells, of moving shadows and fear. And there were flashes of blood.

Sprained left wrist, dislocated right shoulder, compromised right knee. Multiple hematomas around his body if the pain was anything to go by. Probably broken ribs, at least three on his right side, maybe more. Blood dripping from the side of his head where he felt the smash of the helmet, probable concussion. Holsters with his pistols and belt gone, Hidden knives on his arms.
He'd had worse.

Jason gets beat up and captured by the Justice League during an undercover mission, no one knows his connection to Batman and the Bat is on an off world mission. Jason is on his own and his stubbornness to reveal anything is no help.

The kid was going to die at this rate, whether or not Jason had anything to do with it. Apparently dead Robins were just a thing, now, and Bruce didn’t give a shit whether they lived or died.
There was something almost comforting about that, that Jason’s wasn’t the only life that didn’t matter.

Well. If those fucks didn’t care about their baby bird now, Jason would just have to make them care. And he had a few ideas on just how to do that.
Robin might get a little broken in the process, but what was a little kidnapping and torture between friends?

The honor of your presence is requested at the marriage of Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne and Bernard Albert Dowd.
Kon read it four times. He read it the way you read something that your brain keeps refusing to process, keeps sliding off of, the way certain information simply will not stick because your mind has categorized it as incompatible with reality and is doing its level best to reject it. He read it until the words stopped looking like words and became just shapes, just ink on a pale surface, abstract and meaningless, and then he read it one more time and the shapes became words again and they still said the same thing they'd said the first time.
He put the invitation back in the envelope.
He put the envelope in his back pocket.
