    This story follows two separate timeline arcs, each leading toward vastly different futures. As you read, starting at chapter five, you may choose which path you prefer as the true course of this world: one shaped more heavily by grief, sacrifice, and the brutal cost of war, while the other leans toward healing, family, and the fragile hope of spring. In the end, the choice of which story truly lives belongs to you :)

    All credit goes to George R.R. Martin. This story differs from the original, though many of the characters are from canon.
