“You scared?” The idiot asks. But his own voice is shaking and it's clear who's the one that's actually scared here, and it's not the one without the knife.
Leon grabs the arm with the knife as it's swung at him, he twists and pulls before suddenly the knife is dropping. Leon catches it easily with his free hand before bringing it up to inspect it after pushing his attacker back.
“Shotty craftsmanship only thing It's got going for it is it's sharp.” Leon lectures as he tests it on his arm and blows off the hair it shaved off. He then pulled out a knife of his own. It's a mean looking thing, absolutely military grade with a custom grip.
He holds it up so it's easily visible, “Mines better.” Is all he says before putting it away once more and places the one he confiscated on the bar top out of reach.

She nods shakily as she collapses onto the ground. The agent just takes a breath before crouching down and picking her up. She squeaks but he pays her no mind.
“You did really well, but we need to get further away in case anything too nasty gets out. I don't know what else is in there.” He tells her calmly.
She shutters against him at the thought of anything worse than what she'd seen. It was hard to imagine this was what a normal DSO mission was. The idea that this was a normal mission for him…Jesus she couldn't imagine doing this willingly.

Because he can’t. Not with Sherry waiting at home. Not with so many things still up in the air. Going out to drink is on the very bottom of his list until he’s certain their house of cards won’t collapse on top of them in the next moment.
He shakes his head with an apologetic grimace. “Sorry, I already have plans. Maybe some other time though,” he quickly tags on. Then, before he can say more and dig himself into a deeper grave, he turns to leave. But not before he catches a glimpse of Grayson’s hopeful smile.

It wasn’t long till she began hearing a cacophony of distressed voices coming closer to her and Pomni. Jax turned her head as much as she could, seeing an array of new colorful blurs enter her vision. While her eyesight was still clouded, she knew exactly who those colors belonged to. That wasn’t the part that confused her.
What confused her was why they were all fussing over her. She didn’t end up abstracting. Sure, she felt like utter hell, and it was a miracle she was able to stay half awake, but she was alive.
They didn’t have to stay; after how she’d treated them, they shouldn’t care about her.
Why did they care?
