He watched intently for 90 minutes as the subject who had ruined his life in less than three months enjoyed himself on the field. Every time his face appeared on the flat screen in Michael's room, he sported a grin from ear to ear, no trace of anything that would show Michael that he felt as miserable as he did. He watched the way he demolished the other team’s plays, the way he scored the last goal of the game —Tsk, typical, Michael thought—, the way he bumped fists with a player from the opposing team, wishing to play against him again.
Michael couldn’t take it anymore.

Of course if there was one thing that could be counted on, it was Ushijima’s blunt, total honesty. “Do you think Tendou is attracted to me?”
Reon froze. “T-Tendou?”
“Yes.”
Tendou was notoriously hard to read, but Reon kind of figured that he wasn’t the type to be anything less than painfully overt with romantic affections.
“I... I don’t think you have anything to worry about. I think if Tendou was attracted to you, he would let you know,” Reon said. “I'd guess he just considers you his best friend.” He hoped his answer would satisfy whatever frenzy the guy had worked himself into so Reon could finally take advantage of his last precious hours of sleep.
But instead, Ushijima visibly deflated in front of him. “Yes. That’s what I thought too,” he said miserably.

Summary
When he finally manages to stay motionless, Tsukasa also moves around a little—maybe subconsciously, but both end up just a bit closer to the other, now the heat from the other’s body being unmistakable.
“Jun?” Tsukasa asks, whispering as if he were a child who dares to speak after curfew.
The simplicity of using only Jun’s given name is… comfort in ways Jun cannot name, not even to himself. Humming as a response is enough for Tsukasa to add more:
“Are you cold?”

Once Jun leaves the rink, clouds gather and light rain falls. Walking away and smoking a package of cigarettes while the memories of his past and skating career circle in his mind, Jun makes a mistake and ends up on the ground. Thankfully to his 'saviour', he avoids hitting his head - but the man turns out to be Tsukasa. Views and words clashing, with declarations and honesty, after a lifetime spent feeling nothing but the coldness of the ice, Jun lets himself be embraced by the warmth of a man who respects and adores him to no end.

“If we just say we’re married, that clears everything up,” Tobio suggests.
“Hmmm…” Hinata hums thoughtfully. “Because then everyone will know we’re not actually having a saucy love affair?”
“Yeah. We’re just… normal.”
“That sounds almost boring.”
Tobio gives him a withering look. “Do you want this to continue? We have interviews tomorrow.”

“No,” he blurts out, just as Hinata leans in close, a whisper of breath between them and their lips brushing.
Hinata freezes immediately, and for a beat there is nothing except the rain against the window pane and Tobio’s heartbeat thudding in his ears. A flash of pink as Hinata’s tongue darts out to wet his lips, and then he visibly swallows and starts to retreat, his eyes dull with rejection.
Before he can go too far, Tobio’s hand shoots out, dropping his pencil to the bedding, and he sinks it into soft orange waves and holds Hinata in place. “Not yet,” he elaborates.
