There is no bite to his words. Simon spoke them with the tone he usually uses when Wilhelm is being embarrassingly sweet. His voice soft even though it cracks a little.
“Does it look like I care?”
more concretely, Simon catches a cold from hell and Wilhelm goes into overprotective boyfriend mode.

His boyfriend just let out a hum, arms tightening around Wille.
“Are you okay?”
Simon nodded against his back. Wille laughed under his breath, intertwining his fingers through Simon’s and squeezing.
“Liar.”
Simon groaned, simply continuing to cling.
“Did you adopt a koala?” Madison asked with a smile, peering around Wille to look Simon up and down.
“He’s sick,” Wille answered with a sigh, ignoring Simon’s grumbles of “No, I’m not”.

When Simon shows up sick to school one day, Wilhelm discovers that not only is his boyfriend completely terrible at admitting that he's sick, but he also craves physical touch and cuddles like no one's business. Wille is more than willing to provide said affections, but life would be a hell of a lot easier if Simon would just accept the fact that he was ill.

Simon hated going to his dad’s place alone.
It was a dark night – a curling mist hung over the path before him. Simon pushed through it, because he had to do this. He was strong, he had made a mistake and he was going to fix it. Because his family deserved to be protected and feel safe, and like he wasn’t going to betray them again.
So not even the stupid cold that scraped like a razor against his spine was going to make him turn back.
