    Summary

They told Clint that the Black Widow was a monster, a ghost, a trained weapon designed to kill.
What they didn't tell him was that she'd open the door barefoot, bruised after a mission went south, holding a gun in one hand and a sleeping toddler in the other.
"Please," she says, voice shaking despite the way she's aiming the pistol straight at his chest. "If you are here to kill me, just do it quietly. She just fell asleep,"
Hawkeye was supposed to take the shot and go home. Instead, he finds a terrified nineteen-year-old trying to keep her daughter fed, hidden and alive while half the world hunts her down.
And yeah - the Black Widow can kill a man in under ten seconds but she's also exhausted, scared out of her mind and standing in a shitty apartment whispering Russian lullabies to a little girl who clings to her like she's the only safe thing in the world.
So, Clint makes a different call - no shot, no mission complete, just - "Pack a bag , Natalia. We gotta go, Now."

Turns out saving the Black Widow is a lot harder than killing her. Especially when she doesn't trust anyone, the kid keeps stealing his arrows and SHIELD would really like to know why Clint couldn't complete the mission.

    Summary

Besides that there is that little feeling. A tinge of excitement and something she can't name because she's never felt it before. It reminds her of the moment following jumping off a building with her tether. Eyes closed, heart racing — and before she’s caught and anchored and reassured of her safety there is the half second of flying, of being pulled to the Earth. It feels similar enough here, captured and crystallized in that moment with Kate Bishop. Which begs the next question — will she experience it again?

    Summary

Aleka didn’t survive by will, only by habit.

When Bill and Frank find her on their doorstep, something begins to take shape — something dangerously close to home, if Aleka even knew what that meant. But in a world like this, nothing lasts. And even what remains comes at a price.

When it all falls apart, Aleka is left with nothing but a road and what starts as refuge ends in ruins, leading her down a path where everything converges: a man haunted by his past, a girl carrying the future, and Aleka, trying to reclaim what was taken from her.

“Your robes are…red,” Hermione finally said, strangely accusing.

“Burgundy!” Severus protested. Red was tacky. Burgundy, however, had class.

“And what did you do to your hair?” she asked in horrified fascination.

Snape’s hand rose to his scalp.

“Nothing! What is wrong with you? I just washed it and blow-dried it like every morning…”

“Ah, I see.” She nodded and stepped back. “Alternate dimension. It must be.”

    Summary

“About that,” Vi says. “How’d you end up here? What did a girl like you do to get tossed into this two-star shithole?”

“Really? That’s how you ask? No subtlety in it?”

“Uh, yeah? I saved you from getting shanked in the shower, so fair’s fair. What’s your deal, topside?”

“Caitlyn,” she says. That isn’t right. That wasn’t the answer Vi was after. Names are easily given away but so seldomly remembered in Stillwater, but it echoes in Vi’s head. She almost doesn’t hear the actual answer. “And though I have no doubt a thousand people have given this answer before, I did nothing. I was doing my job, and then I was here. No trial. No sentencing. No crime to speak of.”

Half a decade into Vi's stay in Stillwater, a topsider turns up, raving about being a Councillor's daughter.
