Summary
Dennis arrives in Pittsburgh with everything he owns on his back and nowhere left to go. Recently homeless, he drifts through the city searching for work, warmth, and something that might feel like home.
Michael “Robby” Robinavitch is a retired doctor who traded hospital halls for dusty shelves and soft light, running a small bookstore most people pass without noticing. He didn’t plan on becoming anyone’s anchor, least of all a young man carrying more weight than his years should allow.
Their meeting is accidental. What follows is not. As shared moments turn into something more deliberate, both men are forced to reckon with old wounds, guarded instincts, and the fear of wanting something that might not last.

This story expands that moment into one complete shift. It will explore; what was happening in the Pitt before the power outage, a deeper view into the intense hours they were stuck and will follow the complicated aftermath across the rest of the shift.
