Have you heard the story of the two orphaned sisters?
Reports state that the ‘beast’ appeared two weeks ago. In that time, it had never shown itself. It left nothing behind but split trees and new paths, haphazardly torn into the ground. The beast never attacked adults; it only went after children when no one was looking, never making a show of the kidnapping. No sound, no evidence. It was as if the children were never there at all.
I heard the younger sister was jealous of her older sister’s happiness.
The Master trusted this to him personally. There was no room for failure.
They say the younger went mad and murdered her older sister the night before her wedding.
A monster will fall before sunrise.

Summary
Like any other organization, the Demon Slayer Corps were no stranger to rumours. To no one's surprise, the kakushi were always the first to know of anything and everything. However, there was one rumour that circulated for a long time, one that every kakushi, new and old, knew. Rumours about a Miracle Selection. Participants who did live past their first few months as demon slayers didn’t rise too high in the ranks. Many performed pretty average and remained in the low to middle ranks. Chuuya knew it was weird, but together like this, it almost felt like coming home. How he seamlessly fell into sync with Dazai, with Chuuya on the other boy's right side, it all felt like second nature. Giyuu wasn’t sure who else spoke up to answer Kanroji’s question before his mind thought back to the life he had lived, and all of the blood spilled for him to reach this far in life. Unfortunately for Giyuu, it wasn’t long before his mind suddenly turned down a dangerous road. It wasn’t unfamiliar for him to think back on his life and wonder what could have gone differently. Though just because it wasn’t unfamiliar territory didn’t mean he enjoyed it.
‘What could have happened differently? What could have been?’

Summary
Toya, vowing to protect Shoto, grabs his youngest brother and runs away. Of course, nothing ever goes his way, and they run into trouble. Luckily, the brothers have a hero they can look up to.
With some help, Shoto can heal the way his eldest brother and siblings couldn’t. Maybe, with time, he could even make peace with the red and orange flames that raged in his dreams while also taking comfort in the warm blue flames that seemed to flicker with life within him.(this is an AU, so please don't come at me if it's not all canon)
