Summary
“Ysmir’s beard, Harbinger, is that an Amulet of Mara? What could the Dragonborn and Harbinger of the Companions possibly be doing in a tavern with an Amulet of Mara?” Vilkas hissed, now just as concerned as she that they not be overheard.
Anger glinted in the Harbinger’s eyes, and she glared up at Vilkas defiantly, having thrown off her embarrassment for the moment.
“I may not be your master, Vilkas, but neither are you mine. It’s not of your business why I am here. I might ask you how you did not recognize your own Harbinger?”
Vilkas sputtered.
“I can count on one hand the number of times I have seen your face, Harbinger.”

Summary
So this started as a one-shot-ish short story based one the one crazy play-through I did where I just took off with Vilkas’s sword and completed the main story and several other quest lines before going back to Eorland... and then it turned into something with a plot after that...
I imagine running off with his sword would actually piss Vilkas off pretty badly...
...But of course, once he’s done holding a grudge over that, Vilkas really doesn’t “half do” anything...(Also, obligatory disclaimer: this is a fanfiction so most of the characters and the setting do not belong to me.)

Summary
So I was playing around with some mods... and I borked something...
So... in my most recent play-through (with a character that I thought I was going to have marry Farkas) things glitched and, even though I’d completed the Companions’ quest line, Farkas’s marriage dialogue wasn’t available— no response to an amulet of Mara whatsoever— and then suddenly I couldn’t even ask Farkas to follow me anymore.
...Then Vilkas offered the “dragon seekers” quest...
All of which resulted in some inspiration. Enjoy!(Insert standard disclaimer about this being a fanfiction and certain characters not belonging to me, etc.)

“Whatever extent the caster allows. A desperate measure…but this cold would kill even Nords such as us.”
Afterwards, he’d put the matter from his mind all too willingly. It had, after all, been the only time he’d seen her use it – before or since. She’d spoken truthfully when she said it was a desperate measure, and he could not fairly fault her for using it in those cases. Vilkas trusted her judgement.
At least until the next time rolled around.
