Out of all the different conditions a living being could be in, for Kenma, sleep has always been the most preferred one. There were no noise, no hustle, no unwanted attention or insistent questions, no disruptions, no overload of his senses, no obligations and, most importantly, no fear for his life. Or his sanity.
However, as most enjoyable things in life, Kenma was forsaken the pleasure of holding onto this little peace of his forever.
After all, it was one of his tasks to help settle in the new arrivals.

Two pairs of light brown eyes stared at Asahi as he tried to hide his huge self under said counter in the back of their kitchen. One pair was politely blank with slight worry creasing their brows. The other seemed bored. Had he not been in a state close to panic, Asahi might have noticed the refreshed mischief sparkling in them.
"I-I can't go out there!" Despite his voice having gained one or two octaves, it was barely more than a whisper.
The two pairs of eyes met once more in confused wonder. Again it was the cook who dared to inquire for more explanation. "And why not?"
"B-b-because i-it's him!"

"D-Daichi!"

Tooru stares at Ushijima, for once in his life at a loss for words. Before Tooru can stop him, Ushijima reaches out and touches Tooru’s hand. Immediately, the pain stops. Tooru inhales sharply and instinctively takes a step back.
“Don’t just touch me without asking!” Tooru snaps.
Ushijima looks at Tooru like he’s some kind of bizarre insect. “It hurt.”
That comment is the last straw.
“How can you be my soulmate?! You’re too old!”
Tooru’s skin crawls. He can’t stand the guy! They are going to drive each other mad! Tooru spent years imagining how it would feel like to finally beat Ushijima, and now he’s supposed to come to love and appreciate him? No way. Not in a hundred years.
