    Francis filed in with the crowd of people who had gathered into the Tuileries Palace on May 21, 1871. A grand concert was being held there to aid the battlefield hospitals of the revolutionary new civil war known as the Paris Commune. Mere months prior, a French revolutionary government had taken ahold of Paris. A government for the people: one of inclusive and radical ideas. Francis had never seen such a thing take hold of France. His maman had told him of the revolution of 1848, when the Second Republic of France was established.

    It was the spring of 1871: Queen Victoria was in the palace, workers were on strike for better conditions, and the Royal Albert Hall was being built in London. Arthur lived a fairly normal life on the outskirts of the capital, working as a domestic servant for a lord's estate. It wasn't a luxurious life, but the Englishman was quite content waiting on the well-to-do and having generally more free time than the average coal miner or textile worker.

    Poob’s halfway through some mindless Happy Home party, zoning out to the sound of strangers arguing about countertops, when his phone buzzes.

    It’s Pest.

    Weird. Pest doesn’t call. He throws tantrums. Sends threats in all caps. Sulks for hours. But picking up the phone? Unheard of.

    Still, Poob answers—and Pest, true to form, starts a fight. Loud, bratty, pointless.
    Except something’s wrong. His voice is off. His breathing's too shallow. There’s a crack in every insult, like he’s barely holding something in.

    Then it clicks.

    Pest is jerking off. Mid-argument. Probably in Poob’s hoodie. Definitely in Poob’s bed. And trying so hard to pretend he’s not doing it for Poob.

    Which is adorable. And pathetic. And Poob’s not letting him off the hook until he begs—until he says who he belongs to.

    ⚠️(TRIGGER WARNING)⚠️

    "Mark!" Wallter gasped out, immediately kneeling to gather Mark into his arms. "Oh goodness, dear. What happened? What possessed you to do this?" His own eyes felt watery, so worried about his beloved. The smell of Wallter was comforting, an earthy smell emitting from him and his clothes. Mark dug his face into his chest, loudly sobbing out that he was sorry for being like this and not to hurt him.

     

    That broke Wallter's heart, hugging him tighter as he held Mark's head. He stayed silent, an obvious frown on his face, yet trying his best to calm Mark down with physical touch. "You're okay, I'm not going to hurt you, Mark." Mumbling as he began to caress the back of his head, gently placing Mark's construction hat aside. "I'm not going to hurt you, I never will, for displaying your emotions outwardly like this."
