Summary
Ed would deny it to the end but his first reflex was to run. Only he never got the time because Stede caught sight of him and froze, his face an avalanche of emotions that Ed was in no state to decipher.
Well, if flight was not an option, fight would have to do. Ed marched towards Stede, squaring his shoulders in his most threatening pose, which is when he saw it - the whole expanse of Stede's left cheek and part of his neck, covered in burn scars, still pinkish in places. A short patchy beard was badly covering part of it.
.........................
Ed finds Stede again in Nassau, but things are tense, and made even more awkward by Ed's first reaction to the state of Stede's face. They work through it over the span of few months, through chance encounters and other less random ones.

Summary
The obstacle shrieked, and Ed could just about see a man raise his arms to protect himself from the avalanche of boxes. The man stumbled a few feet backward into one of the padded benches, fell over it with a panicked cry, tried to grab the closest shoe rack, and disappeared under it when it fell on him with a loud crash.
.........................................Ed literally crashes into Stede while the latter is looking for football shoes for Louis in Ed's sport store. They're well on their way to a fast burn when Ed's past rears its ugly head. Will they find each other again?

The thing is, you should never ever bet with CJ, because losing a bet against him always had consequences. He knew that, everybody who had met CJ knew that. Ed absolutely should have known better after being on and off with the fucker for two excruciating years.
...............................................
Ed has lost a bet and has to wear the absolute worst t-shirt at the club. He meets Stede in the club's toilets and strike a conversation about Julius Caesar. Or: Stede is a weirdo; Ed loves that.

Summary
“Oh it’s really you!” Ed said after opening the door.
The eyes of the cute curly blond man on his doorstep widened in surprise “Yes? Were you... were you waiting for someone else?”
Well done, Teach, way to start the evening on a totally normal note.
“Nono, I just thought your profile pic might have been fake. Or doctored a bit at least.”
“Really? Why?”
“The... the hair.”......
Stede meets Ed at his flat for a hook-up. Stede is weird and soft. Ed is into it and gets all emotional. -

Summary
A couple of months after their reunion, Ed and Stede are exploring each other in bed (a lot). Stede is always completely limp, barely verbal and hazy after coming. Ed happens to be very much into that. Stede happens to be very much into Ed being into that.
Note: there is explicit consent throughout.
.................................................
“I like it, when you’re all fucked out and warm and pliant and pink”, Ed had finally admitted, “So fucking sexy. Want to eat you whole when you’re like that, but I don’t think you’d like to be touched after?”
But Stede very much did, in fact, want that. Within reasonable limits that they were currently exploring.

Summary
Ed was halfway through his drink when the strange man walked in like he had a million other places he’d rather be. It was obvious in his stance, the way he tapped his dress shoes and glanced down at an actual honest to god watch on his wrist while frowning like the bar had somehow inconvenienced him. Ed had been annoyed his friend was running late but now at least he had some entertainment as he nursed his beer. What was a man like that doing in a dive like this?

Summary
Our saltwater solution reduces gravity’s pull by over 80%, ensuring you'll effortlessly stay afloat! We keep the water at a steady 36 degrees—matching your skin’s temperature. This blend of weightlessness and warmth blurs the lines between your body and the water, as your nerves can’t tell where you end and the surrounding environment begins.
Weightlessness. Yeah. If anything’s gonna be Ed’s cure-all, it’s gotta be weightlessness, right?
Ed’s carried around weight for most of his life. He’s tired. His muscles ache. His joints are all ground down to dust.
Also - the word solution is right there. Which proves it.
This is it. This is Ed’s solution.
(Or: Ed's on a wellness journey for his fuckass brain. It's not going great. The guy at the float tank place is being way too nice about it. Please mind the tags!)

Summary
The true history:
The Pacific Clipper was a Pan American Airlines scheduled commercial flight from San Francisco, California, to Auckland, New Zealand that operated from 1939 to 1941. All tickets were first class and cost around $15,000 in 2024 US dollars; passengers ate five course meals prepared by chefs from four star restaurants. From December 1941 to January 1942, the Pacific Clipper completed an unplanned nearly around-the-world flight: the first commercial circumnavigation of the globe.
