Summary
I'm at it again...
If you have read my other works, just think:
- length of The Quiet Fight but with writing that no longer fucking sucks, and actual paragraphs
- tenderness of other sick fics
- missing parts like Chompers (only a ball and not some teeth)
- humor of Just Pretend
This is an amalgamation of everything I love to write in one fic, and it will be far shorter (much much shorter chapters...sorry), and quick to complete because of it.OR: Shane Hollander loses his literal left nut, but gains an Ilya much earlier in life because of it...but make it a little bit funny, and a lot a bit tender and loving
I WILL NEVER MAKE AN ALTERNATE ENDING OF THIS. (I think so. Maybe? Probably?)
PS: I should publish my Google searches from making this one… that in and of itself makes for questionable comedy gold. Never have I looked at so many nut sacks.

Summary
BREAKING: NHL stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov both in a critical condition after car accident
The accident occurred at 9:47 this morning on the outskirts of Ottawa. The two players were travelling together when the car they were in was hit by a drunk-driver running a red light. Hollander and Rozanov have been admitted to Ottawa General, and are both being kept in medically induced comas due to the severity of their injuries. The driver of the other car is reported to have died at the scene.
The two hockey stars are famously rivals, and it is unknown why they were travelling together, or why Rozanov, who usually spends his summers in his home country of Russia, was in Ottawa. Are they secret friends off the ice?

Shane and Ilya are hit by a drunk driver on their way from the cottage to Montreal to help out Hayden. As they lie unconscious in their hospital beds, their secrets slowly start to unravel.

“Craig Leonard, the rookie forward from the Admirals, collided with Hollander against the boards in the third period of tonight’s game. Initial reports are that Hollander is in serious condition at a New York hospital. Reports are that Hollander couldn’t feel his legs and was having trouble breathing in the ambulance.”
Or: Shane and Ilya navigate the immediate terrifying and raw aftermath of a catastrophic collision that leaves Shane at the mercy of a spinal cord injury.
