A clap of thunder sounds outside, illuminating the bridge with a burst of light, and Olruggio stops. His eyes flash to the window, as if he’s only just noticed the storm, and he goes very still. Then he rounds on them and demands, “How long has it been raining?”
It's storming outside, and Qifrey hasn't come home.

He wants to recite all the small little poems he kept hidden at the back of his training journal, all dedicated to him and to the day where they'd finally meet again. He wants to say he loves him, but all he manages instead is just a simple-

Like a fucking idiot.

His new feeling was more of a conscious desire, but still from an origin beyond what Kaneki knew as human, from a place of a ghoul’s base instincts. It showed itself as a persistent craving for Hide, in a way that was more than just wanting him as a human to eat. It was a longing to put his mouth onto all of him, to take Hide’s body in every way that Kaneki, and only Kaneki, could. To bite into Hide as if it could express at least half of the energy that had built itself up within Kaneki towards him. To hold Hide with every limb and kagune appendage that he could so that nobody else could even think of touching him.

Kaneki experiences new and strong urges towards Hide, influenced by his ghoul status. Even when Kaneki fears he's undeserving of Hide's acceptance of him as he is, Hide continues to give it unconditionally.

Kaneki is sleeping on the couch, his kagune are lazily curled around him, too. What’s more cuter though, is that Kaneki is hugging one of his little tails in a very tight hold, almost as if he’s cuddling his kagune. Kanekis eyes are shut tightly, and his mouth is forming a dumb smile and Hide can tell that he’s having a good dream.
It’s kind of.. cute.
