    Somewhere far, far away, there was a massive crater within a ring of tall obsidian walls, rubble strewn all inside the sinkhole. It had stopped smoking a long time ago, and the ash and dust had long settled. The ruins of the underground chamber had not been touched in almost a year. Until-

    A pebble skittered, then another. Rocks were moved. Boulders were shifted. A slim, pale hand reached down into the dead ruins of a long-ago memory. Slowly, the hand pulled something out of the rubble. A spyglass.
