"So you don't need to buy me bad chocolate to get in my pants," Quentin replies, coming down off his toes and catching sight of Eliot's pout. Then the oranges are absent from Eliot's hands, which is convenient, because it means he can put them on Quentin’s waist as Q turns back from the fridge, oranges safely stowed. "I'm easy, baby, just smile at me and I'm yours."
Eliot smiles, reflex, and Quentin hums, pushing up to kiss it off his mouth.

“Oh, honey,” Eliot says, absolutely and totally failing to avoid using his Daddy voice because this guy is just– He’s just so fucking cute. “Just because you don’t want to tie up your girlfriend doesn’t mean you can’t make use of the toys. Have you ever thought about trying it the other way around?”

Summary
There’s a layer of dust coating everything in the cottage, like nobody’s been here since them. A thick white film, almost the perfect representation of what their lives ended up being. He swipes a finger along the counter as he goes, a thin streak left behind, as he marvels at the fact that it’s exactly how they left it — despite never having actually been here. Even the lines along the doorway to the kitchen, where Quentin had insisted on marking Teddy’s height; Eliot pauses here, to press his nail into the tallest mark, a soft smile dancing along his lips at the memory of Quentin pouting when they finally had the proof that Teddy had officially grown taller than him.
He swallows down a lump and moves down the short hallway. The door to the bedroom is closed, and he hesitates for a moment, before reaching out and wrapping his hand around the knob. He freezes, a memory flashing of Quentin.

Summary
“You’re missing your own party.”
Quentin startles, flipping around so his back against the balcony wall, and bringing a hand to his chest as Eliot steps out onto the balcony with him. He’s watching him expectantly, a strange little smile on his lips, and Quentin swallows, attempts a sheepish shrug. “It’s a lot,” he says after a moment, carefully turning back around to look over the city view the penthouse grants. He reaches up and clutches the bars on the wall, fists tight and knuckles burning white.
The sound of Eliot’s shoes tapping against the concrete beneath their feet fills the silence, until Quentin can feel him, warm and real, standing just behind him.

Summary
The night the Physical Kids’ Cottage burns down, Quentin is alone in his room, sulking. He could have been at the party downstairs. He’d been invited to the party downstairs. But ever since the... incident with Eliot, things have been weird between them. Quentin hadn’t wanted to mope around the edges of the room and pine for simpler days. And so he’s alone, forced to escape through his bedroom window, as the magical flames tear the Cottage down to the studs.
In the aftermath, Quentin, Eliot and the other Physical Kids are left to pick up the pieces, both literally and metaphorically, of what happened that night. And in Quentin’s case, of what happened months earlier, when he’d humiliated himself and lost the closeness of the most important friendship of his adult life.
Luckily, even if things can never go back to the way they were, that doesn’t mean they can’t be fixed. And in the meantime, there’s a shortage of bedrooms on campus in the absence of the Cottage...
