He sticks a shaking hand into the water and lets it run through his webbed fingers. It’s nice and warm.
It’s home.
“I think we’ll be there soon,” Ryusei says quietly and scoots closer to Sae, finally wrapping an arm around the omega. “I think they’ll release us far away from where the humans reside,” the alpha guesses and Sae hums at that.
He looks into the distance and props his arms on the edge of the boat, letting his head rest on top of it. The sun stands high above them and warms Sae’s dry and calloused skin. After all this time, he still feels the rough sand of the aquarium itch his scales, scouring at them until he bled and cried from agony.
or: for ten years, sae’s been trapped in an aquarium with seemingly no way to ever return to the ocean again. but one day, he’s given the hope to dream again.

Ruggies not sure how he feels honestly.
Because on one end, Leona viewing him as raw meet to please himself and nothing more makes Ruggie struggle to keep tears back, but on the other, Leona kissing and cuddling him doesn't make him feel too bad to be honest. it makes heat spread to his face and his chest feel warm no matter how Leona views him.
Pathetic.
It so ironic it's almost funny. Almost. Despite the shame and heart break Ruggie knows that this is the best someone like him can hope for, especially from someone like Leona. he knows he should just accept it despite how much it hurts him.
This doesn't work out the way he thought...

Contrary to popular belief, Floyd himself gets just as frustrated with his own mood swings as others do having to experiencing them (most of the time.)
When something stops being fun, it’s because something in him just sort of ‘clicks’ off, and suddenly whatever had his attention isn’t nearly as exciting as it was a millisecond ago - which means that he has to sulk in a poor mood until he can find something new.
Being in a bad mood out of his control is quite possibly one of the worst things he can think of. Trying to find something new to satiate his hunger for excitement is about as difficult as finding a coin in a coral bed - and it’s all the more frustrating when he can’t get that ‘click’ back again for a while.
