“Or pinch his cheeks,” adds Euijoo.
“Or tease him to hell and back.”

Summary
On Saturday night, Euijoo watches his boyfriend of one month fuck his lesbian best friend of several years, shoulder to shoulder with said lesbian’s fiancée. There’s no possible backstory that could justify this outcome.
Or, maybe, there is.
(Nicholas and Euijoo have just gotten together and are incredibly awkward about approaching intimacy. For some reason, their lesbian friends decide that they should get involved. Like, very involved.)

Yudai won’t risk it. He can’t risk it. Not just on principle, but mentally, physically, he can’t. The very idea makes his throat close up, that lump swelling even larger, a tumour of guilt and shame.
Drunk words, sober thoughts.
Sometimes, Fuma looks at Yudai like he’s seeing right through him. Like he’s reading Yudai’s mind the way he would a book. Skimming the thoughts as they’re written across the wrinkles of his brain.
Yudai doesn’t know how to ask for what he wants. Fuma decides to take it from him anyways.

“You don’t understand,” Nicholas whimpers pathetically, like the sack of shit he is. “It’s so over man. I have to die. I have to die.”
“Jesus Christ Nicho,” Euijoo laughs. “What the hell did you do? Fuck Taki’s hot mom?”
He says it goadingly, teasingly, like he’s trying to annoy Nicholas into laughing. Nicholas does not laugh. Nicholas closes his eyes and wishes with all his heart for a sinkhole to swallow the entire block.

“Tell me to leave,” Euijoo finally says, words dripping with barely stifled emotion. “Nicho, tell me to go.”
But Nicholas has always been a slave to his hunger. It was the thing that pushed him thousands of kilometers from home, wrung the last of his childhood dreams out of his soul, landed him on his best friend’s doorstep even after he’d spent the last three excruciating months trying to let him go.
Nicholas, dealing with the aftermath of being abruptly cast out of the fashion industry he’s dreamed his whole life about, ends up having to crash at Euijoo’s. His heat ruins things, and then some.

“No. It’ll be hot, but it shouldn’t hurt,” Nicholas hums. He reaches over to the candle, dipping his finger into the melted wax to prove his point. He holds his finger up, a drop of oil rolling over his knuckles.
Euijoo watches it carefully. His eyes follow Nicholas’s hand down to his own stomach. He shudders when Nicholas traces his happy trail with the tip of his finger. Euijoo openly whines, tensing up again.
“Euijoo, relax, baby,” Nicholas coaxes. He bends down to kiss Euijoo. Euijoo exhales into him like he’s been relieved of a great weight. “I promise I’ll take care of you.”

Euijoo raises an eyebrow. “You were definitely avoiding me.” He sees right through Nicholas’ bullshit––it’s both a blessing and a curse to have someone know you so deeply. “I just want to know what I did wrong so I can make it up to you and you can stop being so skittish around me.”
Nicholas takes a moment to think. There is no universe where he could say “do you remember the time you called me hyung in a live? Well, turns out I’m a bit of a freak and I've accidentally uncovered a part of me I didn’t even know was hidden, and I’ve jerked off to the thought more times than I’d like to admit, so really it’s not your fault, I’m actually just fucking crazy” and Euijoo would be understanding, so instead he opts for, “I’m just a bit out of it––the concerts are kind of taking a toll on me.”

"Oh." Jo sounds a little confused. "What did he have to say?"
"He's giving me tips on how to seduce his brother," Yuma replies. With new energy, he springs from the mattress and throws his closet doors open, squeezing past his parents’ storage boxes to rummage through the hangers. "I guess I have to sneak a crop top into my outfits this week somehow."
A pause. The scratching of pencil against paper on the other end. "This deal seems odd," is all Jo says, before falling silent again.
(or: yuma, a burnt out college sophomore on summer break, and harua, a wannabe rebel stuck in gap year hell, make a deal with nicholas as the collateral. other things end up on the line, too.)
