“I see that you have found another child to adopt,” Zhongli noted with a wry smile.

Ajax let out a shocked cackle. “Xiansheng! Is that a joke I just heard from you?”

(or: Tartaglia, Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers, accidentally adopts–or is adopted by–all of the Hydro vision holders in Teyvat.)

    Summary

Venti gestures wildly with his cup, sloshing wine everywhere. "Morax, my dearest, densest rock, you have spent this entire conversation ranting about him like a spurned lover while casually dropping information that would make any romantic in Teyvat weep. This is comedy gold. You are besotted. You are smitten. You are—" Venti grins, leaning in— "down bad."

Zhongli, ever the unshakable force of nature, simply raises an eyebrow. "I am not."

"You are. Listen to yourself!" Venti straightens, mimicking Zhongli’s refined voice: "Ah yes, this Harbinger is so frustrating, he constantly buys me things, dotes on me, challenges me in battle, calls me attractive, feeds me with his own two hands, kisses my forehead before running off into the sunset—" Venti breaks off, wheezing. "Oh Archons, how are you this oblivious?"

In which Zhongli rants about his Harbinger boyfriend. Venti is both exasperated and amused.

    Summary

What makes it worse is the way Zhongli's eyes soften when Childe speaks, or how Childe's entire demeanor shifts in Zhongli's presence—from battle-ready Harbinger to attentive companion in an instant. It's in the way they gravitate toward each other in any room, unconsciously drifting closer until their shoulders nearly touch. It's maddening because it's so obviously more than money—it's just that neither of them can see it.

How does Zhongli, formerly Rex Lapis, wielder of godly wisdom, architect of Liyue’s economy, not understand that Childe is, in fact, his Sugar Daddy?

How does Childe, notorious businessman, underworld dealer, one of the highest-ranking Fatui Harbingers, not realize that he is the Sugar Daddy?

How do they both not realize that they are—in fact—madly, annoyingly in love?

Or, Childe is Zhongli’s sugar daddy, but neither of them know it. Everyone suffers.

    Summary

There comes a moment in every dragon’s unnaturally long life where they decide, against all wisdom, against millennia of stoic solitude, against the soft hiss of slumbering tectonic plates that beg do not, do not, do not—
    to fall in love.

Zhongli has already lived through three mortal epochs and a dozen minor heartbreaks, a handful of cataclysmic betrayals, and once, a rather distressing culinary incident involving Sumeru spices and a brass teapot. He has watched civilizations rise and crumble like sandcastles abandoned by impatient gods. He has kissed emperors with ash still cooling in their mouths. He has forgotten entire dialects of love.

    But this one—

Tartaglia. The Eleventh Harbinger. Fatui dog. That insufferable ginger menace who insists on calling him “xiansheng” while disarming hilichurls with a grin that belongs on wanted posters and in back-alley sonnets.

This one, Zhongli decides, is worth the return of rituals.

In which Zhongli confuses “romantic gestures” with “terrifying declarations of eternal possession,” and Childe is into it anyway.

    Summary

“Hawks, how long has it been since you’ve been assigned with this mission, remind me? How come you have so little information and don’t even know where their base is? Do you need to go through another special training?”

“No, madam! I am sorry. I will do better. I won’t disappoint you again, I promise,” he stuttered out desperately.

She stared at him, deeming it as the truth. “You better, or I will need to remind you of your place once again,” she expressed with cold eyes. “You’re off work tomorrow, don’t want to risk you spilling all your secrets at work tomorrow now, do we?” All she cared about was the Hero Public Society Commission’s reputation. The quirk must have a cooldown time of 24 hours.

Before letting him go, she added: “We 'll tell the public that you got hurt fighting a villain and need to recover.”

    Or

The HPSC calls Hawks in because he hadn’t given them any useful information about the LOV. Since he refuses to speak, they punish him and activate a truth quirk with a 24 hour long cooldown. What seems to be a good way to get information from Hawks, soon backfires on them as a certain fire villain discovers what happened to Hawks.
