    Another Marinette's class goes to Gotham story.

    Marinette wins a contest to go the Gotham with her class, whom all hate her. She uses the opportunity to try and get in contact with Batman, but things don't go as planned.

    A few things will be similar to some other stories as I did take inspiration from them, but I made sure to add my own spin on stuff to make it my own.
    This is a repost, as I took it down with my account for personal reasons a few months back, but now I'm back!

    Peter could feel his senses buzzing. A far away sort of familiarity to his surroundings, but he couldn’t quite pick out why. His senses were buzzing like a bug he couldn’t see, hair stood on edge but no clear indication of danger. Natasha stalks forward, she’s tense but doesn’t look particularly worried. Peter tried to reel himself back in, even out his rapid heartbeat and grip at his haywire power.

    It was all for not, as Bucky speaks up from across the room, his confusion evident.

    “erga omnes, carthago delenda est, ad meliora. semper fidelis.”

    within a second Peter’s entire world tilts.

    “Where did you learn to do that?”

     

    “The spider bite changed me. I didn’t so much as learn it as it just is now. I never really noticed my balance changed until I started training. Then I could do stuff that I struggled to do before. I think it’s the same reason my body can’t tell which way up is.”

     

    “Not that. Although that is interesting. Where did you learn that flip?”

     

    Peter struggled internally. Did he really want to admit he had learnt the flip, and many other moves in his repertoire, from obsessively watching Black Widow fighting compilations on YouTube? No, he didn’t. But he was going to have to. She would be able to tell if he lied.

     

    “Uh, from you, I guess. I watch a lot of YouTube videos.”

     

    “Why would you do that?”

     

    Peter didn’t understand why she was confused. Until recently, Peter didn’t have tech to rely on. Natasha was clearly the best at hand-to-hand combat, who else should he emulate if not her?

    Summary

    Peter survives the Snap, develops several concerning hobbies, and somehow becomes both Gotham’s worst cryptid infestation and its most efficient public service improvement. Unfortunately, this involves multiple identities, morally questionable urban renewal, an alarming tendency to collect vigilantes, and organized crime mysteriously becoming more functional under his supervision. Somewhere along the way, he also starts turning into a cosmic horror crime cryptid with a steadily increasing disrespect for the concept of death. Gotham really should’ve stopped enabling him earlier.

    Or: In Peter Parker-Stark’s defense, becoming a cosmic horror crime cryptid was never actually part of the plan.

    Just when Peter thinks his luck couldn't get any worse life has to prove him wrong.
    In all honesty he should have probably paid more attention to what Dr. Strange was telling him but he kinda stopped paying attention after ‘I have to send you to another world or we all kinda die’.

    Meanwhile in Blüdhaven Dick Grayson finds an empty abandoned laboratory, yet he's pretty sure someone was here, not too long ago.
