"Okay, kid, let's rewind a bit. First off, who the fuck—” “Language.” “—are they?!” Tony gestures around to the group of tied-up Villains. “And secondly, how the hell did you even manage to defeat them?!"
Peter looks around nervously, eyes darting around the room, carefully avoiding the Avengers' gazes. Has he done something wrong?
“Well… To answer that first question, they’re a group of villains who personally hate my guts. It sucks, I mean, what did I ever do to deserve a specialised supervillain strike team? What's a spider gotta do around here to get some peace?”
He chuckles anxiously, eyes flitting up to meet the teams’, hoping for laughs so he can get a reprieve from the tension that has begun to smother him. All he gets are the pointed looks of the heroes in front of him.
Natasha arches an eyebrow, “And the second question?”
“I just… did?”
Clint levels a look of incredulity at Peter, “You just did? You just defeated them? That’s all you did?”
“...Yes?”
Cap lets out a weary sigh.
OR: Some people forget Spider-Man is The Protector of New York™, and that he has been doing the job for a while.

Summary
Peter knows Tony doesn’t forget on purpose, and he knows that Tony means well with his concern. But, the man has to deal with the fact Peter isn’t a hero, and is in fact, a vigilante. If all he gets is a broken nose after a long night of patrol, Peter considers himself lucky.
A lot of vigilante things were lost on Tony, such as bad PR. Sure, the Avengers get some bad PR, but never J. Jonah. Jameson style, but then again, Spider-Man always had the best pictures, because Peter Parker gave them in for a bit of extra money.
There was some things you learn when you’re in Peter’s line of business, and that is, how to calm down a rape victim, how to help a lost child who doesn’t want help, who to punch harder than the rest, who are first time thieves, and that sometimes things like “don’t pull the knife out” is a rule best ignored, (unless it was somewhere bad bad).
You know Tony’s too far gone from the vigilante line of work, when it’s Pepper Potts, who tells Tony that a broken nose is the least of Peter’s worries, even though she too freaks out about it.Or;
5 times The Avengers (excluding Clint) forgot Peter Parker is a vigilante, and 1 time everyone remembered.

Zuko was probably more involved in the gossip around the palace than he had any right to be.
It’s not his fault, it’s really not. It’s just that sometimes he’s sitting in the kitchens (the best place to get the gossip) drinking tea and trying to relax for once, and some of the kitchen staff will start gossiping where he can still hear them. He doesn’t really try to listen in; it’s not his place and he won’t judge the staff based on whatever rumors are running around, but Spirits is it interesting. He tries not to listen too much, or get too invested in it though. Gossip is gossip after all, and rumors hardly ever turn out to be true.
But Zuko absolutely needs to know if Maya from the laundry room broke up with her piece of shit boyfriend.
Or, 5 times Zuko got invested in/meddled in palace gossip, and 1 time he was the subject of the gossip.

Summary
I always wanted NSID to fit into the canonical Toy Story universe. It was a very large portion of why I ended the story the way I did. That being the case, you can imagine my frustration and annoyance upon seeing Toy Story 4 and realizing it shit all over my damned epilogue for NSID. However, I had no intention of altering what I'd already written.
Instead, I wrote this. It's an alternative-epilogue for NSID that maintains canon-compliance through the new movie. Now, NSID stands on its own, as always, and you aren't required to read the alternate epilogue. But, if you're curious about how I would have ending things if I'd finished the story after seeing TS4, rather than before...well, here you have it. Also, if you liked NSID enough that you wouldn't mind seeing a little more in the universe - or if you ever wanted more info about Sid and Andy's child(ren) - then definitely give this a read.
Please, please, please do not attempt to read this without having first read NSID. You will be massively confused, trust me.
