“25,000€!” the auctioneer cries, “for a date night with Euro Champion Unai Simón-”
“26,000€!” she bids again.
Unai can feel the hairs standing on the back of his neck as he watches the man smile before bidding: “30,000€.”
People gasp. The auctioneer may have a stroke while the woman gives her opponent a curt look before putting her sign down. And Unai… well, Unai is still staring at the winner, still rendered speechless as the crowd finally simmers down enough for him to hear:
“30,000€, and sold to Mr. Pedri.”
(Or: Forced to auction himself as a date, Unai drunkenly confides in his teammate, Pedri, that he's gay and healing from heartbreak. Unai is ill-equipped for the friendship that blossoms and even less prepared for what's to come.)

We don’t really know if it’s true about how they do things here. The last thing we need is you mated to some neanderthal from Russia. It would probably be the end of your career.”
“They were being perfectly nice,” Kun says, frowning. Instead, he takes a deep breath as the familiar scents of his teammates wash over him, trying to raise his spirits again. It’s what gives him the strength to add, “I’m allowed to do things differently here. You’re the one who was being rude.”
