Summary
Thousands of years ago, in the magical world of Chowaryu, mortals once lived in peace with Dragons – a race of beings with the power to control and bring life to the land. But the last Dragon has long since died, and all that remains of these beautiful creatures are their gems.
Today, however, even the Dragon Gems have lost their light.
Shadow, the young prince of the Fire Kingdom, was set to inherit a doomed kingdom. However, one day, an endearing stranger from a distant land caught his eye. Shadow quickly found himself enamoured by his new friend, his responsibilities as heir forgotten as their relationship bloomed.
But something didn't feel right. Secrets were being kept, and truths were bent as the stranger held onto an elaborate lie. Shadow knew something was different about him, but he could never have been prepared to know just how different he truly was.

When Shadow, the once somewhat happy hedgehog, suddenly began to put distance between him and his colleagues, people began to grow worried. In fear that the hedgehog was considering attempting something irreversible and definitely regrettable, Team Dark decided to bring Shadow out of his misery and spend the summer on a vacation by the coast, in the bright and colourful Emerald Town. Shadow was reluctant, but having no say in the matter, went along with his teammates to ease their worries.
However, the vacation had soon gone south, and Shadow found himself further cut off from his allies. That was until he befriended a mysterious girl who spent her days living in the decrepit Death Egg in the nearby lagoon. Without even knowing it, Shadow was starting to change for the better, accepting this girl's kindness and love and learning to appreciate friendship. But who or what is she? And is their connection real?
