Gale's reaction was like the hiccup of a heartbeat. His gentle hands suddenly tensed around my face, then released just as quickly and stroked my cheek in apology.
"Tav, did you just say—? Taveela, can you hear me?"
His face swam in and out of my vision as a new wave of the burning heat roared through my veins. He held onto me with delicate care, but the intensity of his gaze bored into my soul.
