Summary
Love is a mighty, terrible force of nature that I never thought to consider in any of my equations. Now the implications were endless, and I would use that as the source of my connection to the Arcane. My tether to him would pull us in tighter and tighter. No matter the cost or time it would take, I needed to see it through. Even now I was running a fool’s errand, the longest ever known. A coward of a man incapable of accepting how much nothing mattered at the end of everything. It was a mistake I could only keep making over and over in desperation.
Experimental one shot. Time shenanigans mess with the flow.

Summary
“Should call you the Ottawa Puppies,” says the Toronto centre, Svensson. As an insult it makes no sense, so Ilya ignores it, until he continues, “Hear Hollander keeps you on a short leash.”
Ilya is the captain, so if anything, he should be holding the leash. In English, you can be singular or plural, but he knows what Svensson is trying to say. He is saying Ilya Rozanov, you are Hollander’s bitch.
“Only sometimes,” Ilya replies, grinning. He wins the face off.
OR: Ilya trains himself to be a very, very good guard dog for Shane.

It was really just his luck that a hulking monster lumbered out of the woods and directly onto his driveway. Just his luck that he threw enough parties when his parents were gone that the neighbors had long tuned out any noise that came from his yard. Just a nice cherry on top of the fucking cake that, even if anyone did hear him screaming when claws tangled in his jacket and pulled, Steve honestly wasn’t sure they’d have cared enough to bother anyway.
OR:
Months before El ripped open the gate at Hawkins Lab, the Demogorgon started ripping tears of its own. Months before it found Will Byers, it found Steve Harrington.

Absolutely killer fic and stunning Steve angst.
The way they write Steve and the horror/isolation of The Upside Down is so good.
One of the few AU fics I have read where the author has clearly thought about and *commits* to the way the change they made might effect the story overall and yet still manages to create character interactions and dynamics that are close and/or better than what we get in the OG show.
There is a part around the school attack that plays with the original story and the changes so well that I literally gasped when I realised the situation that had been set up.
One of those fics to set aside time for.
I literally would have read it all in one sitting if I hadn't pass out from lack of sleep on chapter 30. -

A beautifully soft moment of intimacy and reflection.
One of those fics where nearly every line is striking in its phrasing and the feeling it gives.
Does one of my favourite thing with Eddie and blurs the line between the religious worship of his youth and the actual caring love of Buck.
Really good depiction of disassociation and the meandering connecting thoughts of that type of emotional state.

This is such a lovely little Chapyard fic.
Funny, cute, and incredibly on brand for the canon show.I feel like not enough fics take advantage of Rudyard not having a bed for a while and this one makes it the whole catalyst.
Just... just such a delight of a fic to read and very *them*.
