“Liar, liar, pants on fire,” Will singsongs, small hands around R2D2. He takes a sip of his own and shrugs, picking his fork back up to spear a bite of pancake. “It grows on you.”
Mike takes another sip and wrinkles his nose.
“It doesn’t have to grow on me. I already like it.”
OR
Mike knows the way Will takes his coffee. Always has, since they were kids. He doesn’t know why, exactly, he couldn’t tell you that information about any of his other friends. Coffee and contemplation and reconnection and something Mike couldn’t put a name to if he tried.
