Summary
Gridanians didn't live near an ocean. They couldn't always burn bodies for fear of causing a fire. Not every creature ate them, and dumping sites for undesirables and cemeteries for loved ones could only be sanctioned by the Elementals. For the most part, as Gridania had a smaller population compared to La Noscea and Ul'Dah, this was acceptable.
However.
Nyrith Samandri, it could be argued, was an outlier amongst Gridanians, as she had lived with the Sylphs for much of her life, until she was tempted to learn conjury. Their method was much more simple:
Mushrooms.

Summary
Nyrith smiles through walking down the ramp from the Ragnarok. The ensuing roar from the crowd. The abundance of congratulations, reassurances, and words of gratitude from everyone she sees.
Somehow, miraculously, she lasts two hours.
Nyrith tells her fellow Scions that, really, she would love some rest, and some time to recover. That she'll be all right. Tells Alphinaud and Urianger, especially, that she will monitor her health closely, and she will see them in the morning, but for now needs time to herself.
(Doesn't notice Estinien watching as she goes.)
She smiles as she greets Ojika. Smiles until she reaches her room. Smiles until the door closes. She bathes, changes into her pajamas, and curls up on her bed with Taxus beside her and her carbuncle plushie in her arms.
Then the shakes begin.

"Did I not," Zenos shot back haughtily, "consume the remaining aether of a godsdamned planet in order to reach you and yet what do I find but the embodiment of despair holding you in its clutches? How utterly banal. A little spar seems a trivial reward in return."
That's it, Nyrith thought, I'm going to kill him.
Or my Warrior of Light, the end, and carrying on. Whether Zenos wants to or not. And what that means for them both.
