Summary
When her best friend is accused of stealing Zeus’s master bolt Lana’s world is shaken at its foundations. Suspicions are high and getting higher when said best friend and supposed forbidden child, is killed before she can stand trial. Of course, that just leaves the small problem of Olympus’s most powerful weapon being tucked away somewhere with no living being knowing where.
But Lana knows that Moana’s not gone, not completely, not forever. If she can get to the underworld and bring her back then they can either prove her innocence or retrieve Zeus’s bolt before the solstice deadline and beg him for mercy.
The problem? Lana has been stuck at camp for seven years without so much as a peep from her mother and now she wants to be a one-woman army and infiltrate and escape the underworld when greater heroes than she have tried and failed? Good thing Annabeth Chase has enough hubris to assign herself as a companion on this doomed crusade.

They say that when a dog is too old the merciful thing to do is to tie rocks to it's ankles and drown it in the river. Too bad Keigo isn't a dog, because he’s far too tired to keep treading water without the love of his life as his lighthouse home.

Summary
The Second Titan War is over, Olympus has won and the demigods have been rewarded. Yet, in her success, new truths about Alessia's existence have been brought to light. In need of penance for not dying when she was supposed to, Alessia is cut off from Camp Jupiter, the only home she's ever known since her family was killed when she was six and she was sent to train at the Wolf House.
There is no great prophecy in store for her, just ten vague commandments from ten Olympian gods who all want their pound of flesh for her father's interference in her life. Some of these commandments are simple but others are harrowing and could very easily get her killed, though that's not exactly out of place in her lived experience. But to sit by and do nothing will either get her killed as well or start a war against her father, which, after all he's done for her, she really can't have.
If only she can get word back home that she's not dead, but is totally lost on where to start with this no-prophecy-necessary questing business.

Summary
"Hey," Eddie says. "Can we go outside for a minute?"
Buck looks up and his face is carefully neutral, which on Buck is the equivalent of a five-alarm blaze because this man has never been neutral about a single thing in his life.
"Sure."
They leave cash on the table and step out into the parking lot. The air is heavy and thick with honeysuckle and asphalt and the far-off electric promise of rain. The cat is gone and the neon sign buzzes above them, pink and sputtering.
"I don't want to stay here tonight," Eddie says.
Buck’s eyebrows tick up. "Okay?"
Hesitating, cutting a look back at the diner, Eddie says, "Look, I know we were gonna find a motel somewhere around here but this place doesn't sit right with me. I can't explain it. I'd rather just keep driving."
He's bracing for Buck to push back, to ask what specifically feels wrong, use this as a doorway back into the booth and the hand and all of it. But Buck just looks at his face for a second and nods.
"Yeah. Okay. Let's go."

Summary
Eddie spots his mother first, standing near the living room with a glass of wine frozen halfway to her mouth. Her eyes track from Eddie's face to Buck's face to their joined hands, and Eddie watches her go through the five stages of grief in the span of two seconds.
Her right hand moves automatically, decades of muscle memory taking over as she touches her forehead, then her chest, then her left shoulder, then her right, her lips pressing together as she mutters what Eddie can only assume is a prayer for his immortal soul.
Across the room, Eddie catches Shannon's eye. She's standing by the fireplace with a drink in her hand and Chris at her side, and she looks like she's having to physically restrain herself from applauding. Her free hand is pressed over her mouth, shoulders shaking with laughter. When she catches Eddie looking she raises her glass in a tiny salute, eyes sparkling with mischief.
Chris, bless him, has no such restraint. His face splits into a massive grin and he turns to his mother and says, in a voice that is so loud it echoes, "Mom, you didn't tell me Dad's boyfriend was cool."
Or,
Eddie needs a fake boyfriend. Maddie's brother is happy to help. -

Alright, now to prove he’s right.
Finger on the cursor, Buck types an a to start.
Google, in all its autocomplete glory, gives Buck some options. Four suggestions stack top to bottom in whatever order Google decides matters most on any given evening, and the four that come up under Buck's single letter are, in order:
am i gay quiz (visited 2 days ago)
Amazon (visited 5 days ago)
american airlines
ammonia bleach mix
Buck stops chewing the inside of his cheek — which, honestly, he didn’t even realize he was doing.
That’s — huh.
That’s not what he was expecting at all.
Or,
Buck uses Eddie's laptop and sees something he isn't supposed to see. He reacts accordingly. -

Summary
"Are you married?”
Christopher coughed so hard he nearly dropped his phone.
Buck choked on nothing.
Eddie said, “No.”
Theo turned to Buck. “Why?”
Buck’s mouth opened.
Eddie got there first. “Because you have to ask someone before you marry them.”
Theo considered this.
Then he looked at Buck. “Did you ask?”
“No,” Buck said quickly.
Theo looked at Eddie. “Did you ask?”
“No.”
“Why?”
Christopher whispered, “Great question.”
